Exclamation Cappa CLE workshop next week - need help!

Hi All My Dear Doula Sisters! I need some help. Due to my recent health issues I am ill prepared for my Cappa CLE workshop next week end I was wondering if you all could help me out? I'll do all the writing and such, I just need advise on which web sites are good for what I'm looking for.

For instance:

10 websites with up to date scientific info on breastfeeding - LLL, IBCLC, Ilca, Jack Newman, Tom Hale,...

Also I'm looking for myth vs. reality for my web site.

Thank You My Dears!

Question

I'll look around some, but for now, how about www.askdrsears.com (look in upper-right corner under main topics), and www.kellymom.com? You'd have to look them over to make sure that they're what you are looking for.

Smile Also look at these....

www.cdc.gov/breastfeeding/ and www.asklenore.com and www.wiessinger.baka.com/bfing/index.html. Again, you'll want to take a look at them to see if they're what you need.

kellymom.com is my favorite, and I use askdrsears.com as well.
If they meet the criteria, you may also want to include: www.breastfeeding.com
and http://www.4women.gov/breastfeeding/index.cfm?page=home. (The government provides recent studies/research, & also is a source for free Breastfeeding handouts, posters, etc. The posters weren't great, but their Breastfeeding Guides were great booklets that I used for Breastfeeding Ed. Classes.
Good Luck!!

Good ones! Don't forget INFACT Canada (Infant Feeding Action Coalition) though. They are very active in the US too.

I didn't know about that one; good to know! Please consider submitting that one to the Breastfeeding category on the Alldoulas Resources page, as well!

The question is "up to date, scientific information'. Would Mothering be OK? Or Midwifery Today? That sort of thing? How about UC San Diego? Isn't that where a lot of breastfeeding studies are done? Should I put Cappa, Dona, Alace, Bradley, etc???

I forgot-THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Oops did I blow out your ear drums?

You guys are the bomb! I love this forum and I love all of you!!!

Thank you so very much,

Jill

Jill -- My understanding is that you are looking for specifically breastfeeding information. Midwifery Today has lots on midwifery but breastfeeding is more the forte of other groups and sites, don't you think? Mothering is great -- but how many articles on bf are on their site compared to others listed?

I don't see any actual bf information on CAPPA, DONA, ALACE etc sites, so I probably wouldn't include them. It looks like you have quite a list, though.
