Need help finding this page about positions.
I know I have seen it before but I dont remember where! I am looking for the website that has all the positions the baby can be in like LOT, LOA, ect.. In the spiritual midwifery book it shows how it goes from LOT to LOA to OA then the baby is born but I am wondering how it goes when the mother has a posterior baby?? Does the head not turn at all? Also the page where its like in a circle and it shows each position and I remember that one including the posterior baby..
Does this make sense?? LOL I'm trying to learn all of them but can't find it! I went to spinning babies first cause that is where I thought I seen it, but can't find it now!
THANKS!

Hmm. I've seen different things before with OP babies. I've seen a couple of babies born direct OP. I've also seen babies just barely crowning while OP and then turning ROT to ROA while crowning.

What I can remember in training was that it still turns, and always same direction of course, just starting out in a posterior posisition. Thier are also some labor positions to help op babies turn into an anterior positions before heading down the canal. I hope that helps. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, I am just trying to remember correctly

They rotate clockwise. So normally you want baby's back along the mom's left side. Just remember "left for launch" and then visualize them turning clockwise. When they are posterior, they still try to rotate clockwise (most of them anyways.)

I think it is the same either way you look at it. Like if you put a clock on the floor and anywhere you stand around it it would be going in the same direction.

my head hurts from trying to visualize this lol. I started to erase my post when I was typing it because I thought to myself no its the same. Then I though, wait, no it isn't lol. Ugh. Blonde moment??? I guess I am thinking about moms perspective being behind her vagina some how lol Like from the inside out. Which obviously makes no sense. I have made it much harder than it needs to be lol

Well see for me the midwife(and dh and my mom confirmed it) told me all 3 of mine were born facing the ceiling so they were "sunny side up".. I just wonder if they turned any to get that way? Or they just completely came out the same way they were in utero?
Jo, what training are you talking about? Doula training? Cause my DONA trained we never went over this..

I went through CBI(childbirth international). We went over the positions and how they turn. We also learned labor positions, called rotational positioning, to help the posterior babies get into an anterior position. I think Aussie Doula is CBI also, so she might can help explain.

Yes we went over position and how to get baby to turn but not what those positions were called (other then just "posterior") and how the baby is positioned in the uterus and how positions they are once they are born.. I don't remember her talking anything about LOT, LOA, etc..

Luv2bmommy, go to childbirthinternational.com, then click on "tools for you". On that page is the rotational positionaing guide. Maybe that will give some helpful info.
