Just wanted to say that I know this test is aimed at L&D nurses, and that as Doulas we don't make medical assessments, but I actually enjoy knowing some of this stuff and it is helpful in understanding a womans body which may in turn enable us to be better Doulas (and - for some - eventual midwives).

But now you know more than you did when you started the test... and that's always a positive thing.

LMAO! 40 out of the 49 questions, but four of those were lucky "guesses" (well, maybe more like the only option left after eliminating the others), so 36 definite correct answers.

I got 25 right/24 wrong. WOW! Some of those were kind of weird...I did have to look up 'ballottement' since I had NEVER seen that word. Lol

While at first I was embarrassed, I think I did pretty darn well considering I'm not a nurse!

Oh and I just looked at the ones I got wrong and most of them were about palpating and positioning. Hmmm.

I got 57%.... guess I could have done some research to look up the big words..
Then when I went back and read the answers....just like in high school ' duh, i knew that, but i second guessed myself!"

how the @#$# do they justify that an episiotomy decreases trauma to the perineum...ok so I'm mad that I got that one wrong! I think I got a 57% but I'm ok with missing most of what I missed....

Summary of Results
67% Correct of 49 questions: 33 correct: 67%
16 incorrect: 33%

This one got me mad...

When preparing a teaching plan on episiotomies, the nurse should include that an episiotomy may

Your Answer:
greatly increase the risk of postpartal infection.
Correct Answer:
decrease trauma to the perineum.

Rationale: Assuming that the episiotomy is done correctly and postpartal hygiene is maintained, this is not a concern of having an episiotomy.

What's up with that logic
