Q about ordering the packet from DONA

Hi!

I have been getting together the papers I will need for my first birth and at the top of one it says that the certification applocation packet has all the forms and directions.. Do I need to order this right after my workshop? Does it have extra forms the client will need to fill out or it is just the 2 that is listed on the website?

Do not quote me on this. But I think you do have to order the Dona packet before you attend a birth. I called Dona. Because I did not order my packet until after the training and before the birth. I did ask Dona if the packet did not come in time if that was ok. and the girl said yes just to make sure I got the right forms for the birth. Call Dona and ask. I hope someone who knows for sure can help you.
You need for the client is:
Client Confidentiality release form

And for yourself the:
Client Profile and History form
Labor Progression Chart form

Yes, you need your packet before the birth or it will not count towards your certification, but it will give you experience

You do need to order the packet before the birth, and if the packet doesn't come by the time your client goes into labor I can let you know some of the information you will need to write down. So that way you can still write info down at the birth and once you recieve the packet just fill in the information. I think if you talk to someone from dona so long as you have ordered your cert. packet (not necessarily recieved) and still get all the information from that birth you should be okay. I actually got my packet last summer and now cannot seem to find it around the house.

*I don't want to order another one!!!*

Thanks!!! Susan that made perfect sense.. I looked on the DONA site and printed out the "client confidentiality release form", "labor progression chart" and another paper that talks about client's profile and history, labor and delivery, etc..

I havent even sent off to get a membership with DONA yet, I am going to do that this week, then after the workshop, I will get the packet.. Hopefully I will get it in before the baby is born..

Thanks ladies!

Well I am not sure but I think you do not have to be a member to get the packet. Of cousre if you do get the membership you get the packet a bit cheaper and also can get in the member boards and the newletter. ..which is nice.

just wanted to let you know about it if you are short on money.

If you have anymore questions let me know.

Hmm I didnt know that! I know when I was looking up info on becoming a CLE that CAPPA requires you to be a member there so I figured you would have to be at DONA too.. I will look into it.. thanks!
