I have a question about where ya'll get your website... I know that Tiffany provides website service here, but before I make a decision I want to see what else is out there... the only one I know of is the geocities of yahoo, do any of you know of anymore?
I have one from freewebs.com. It is free (duh!) Check mine out and you can see the banner that they claim that they will put up since it is free is really not that bad. I got the idea from someone else on here (I can not remember who, but it is in her siggy)
I actually secured a domain name and pay monthly for my web hosting. I feel it presents a more professional image. The domain costs less than $20 per year and my monthly fee for web hosting is $3.33. It is through Computing Host.
I have mine through lunarpages.com. I also registered my domain name. I needed a lot of space because I have several websites and at the time also was running a website for a support group I was in charge of. I still run that website as well, but now it is my personal site. So, since I needed lots of web space I went with lunarpages as it was the best one I could find.

My website is included free with my Roadrunner (cable broadband) account and my Domain name is registered. I have my index page "masked" so that people use my Domain name to get there, but it automatically redirects them to the Roadrunner site without them realizing it.
I do want to put in a plug for Tiffany's webhosting, though. She makes beautiful templates and sites! She can also set you up with a domain, too. IMO, they are beautifully different than everyone else's out there. ...AND...you know where your money is going.

I completely agree! I took a look at the templates and they are GORGEOUS!
mine is through bravenet.com...godaddy.com has a service, too. When I was searching these were the two cheapest (that weren't free) and a friend recommended bravenet. I have to admit I am thinking of switching to Tiffany's but I want to wait until my husband and I decide whether or not we plan to move from the area. I don't want to redo the site and have to do it again a few months later. But, I have been happy with bravenet. I knew nothing about websites and found it very easy to use. Now that I have been messing with it for 8 months or so I am kind of ready to have a little more creative control.
I did the doula associations website here: Doula Association of the Mountain Area through hostica. It's reasonable. I'm searching around for something new for my sites (MamaBellies.com & Mountain Doulas), right now I use frontpage to work on them then upload to yahoo/geocities.

I've used http://www.tigertech.net/ before - It's $6.25 per month for web hosting with free domain. They were great to work with and I never had any problems with the server going down like some others hosting providers.

I use godaddy as well. Their customer support is AWESOME. They are especially great with people who are so computer illiterate.

How did I miss this? Anyway, I use Dreamhost. I've used them for about a year now, and I love them. I paid for two years in advance, so it was quite pricey, but it worked out to be only $7 a month. I purchased a reseller account, so I can host other people's domains as well. I just host family, though.
