Question Labor and Waterbirth Tub Businesses?

I know some of you ladies on here run tub setup/removal businesses.. I'd like to know a little more about it.

Do you offer different brands of tubs or have you picked one you love and stick with it?

How do you fill the tubs?

How do you drain the water out?

How do you clean the tubs after a birth, or do you throw them away?

Tiffany--

Do you offer different brands of tubs or have you picked one you love and stick with it?

I did a lot of research and in the end decided on Aquadoula mainly because I birthed my son in one through Labor Tubs of NW. I own two but when I need to get another I may chose a Gentle Birth Pool because the heaters are removable.

How do you fill the tubs?
How do you drain the water out?

I use two different hoses. One is a hot water hose that is cleaned out so there are no chemicals. The other is a regular hose to drain with a pump.

How do you clean the tubs after a birth, or do you throw them away?

I use an essential oil mixture solution that kills 99% of everything and is non toxic. The disposable liner is thrown away and everything else is whipped down and cleaned. Also, the following is from my Labor Tub packet....

Why not a kiddy pool???
Although a kiddy pool can be less expensive please consider these few things….
-Keeping the temperature accurate in long labors
-The lack of buoyancy which helps moms feel weightlessness during contractions
-No where to grab on to during the pushing stage
-Not enough water depth to support squatting position

I would suggest you go to waterbirth.org and aquadoula.com and birthbalance.com to start with.

Hope that helps.
