Should I add my info now or later?

I'm looking at adding my info to many of the free sites that have a "Find a Doula" feature on their sites.

My question is: I don't have a website YET (it is in creation). Should I list my info now, or after my website is up and running. AND

I'm not going to be able to take any clients until mid August due to summer plans...should I get my name out there now??? Or wait until August???

What would you do?

Abby

Start now, but keep a bookmark folder of all the places you list yourself so you can go back later and add your website. I work a couple hours a month on my web promotion and that is where most of my clients find me. Good luck!

I totally agree. Even if you are not going to be offering your services for awhile it can take time for people to find you. Not only that, but sometimes you have mamas looking for doulas at the very beginning of their pregnancies and if that is the case you could potentially hook up with a mama who is due later in the year.

I'd start now too You'll be getting calls from mommas due in August, if you already have your website domain you can even go ahead and put that in there so that you don't have to go back, it'll show up as under construction usually until you have it finished.

Most of the referral sites let you update your listing. I haven't put a website together yet, but went ahead and listed anyway.
