Question Doula Services/Childbirth Classes Package?

Do any of you girls offer childbirth and/or breastfeeding class with your doula plan? And if you do, are you certified or not? And if you are not certified has it made a difference to clients because you are not?

I am a certified breastfeeding educator. I give a class but not part of my doula package. If they want to take it, they have to register and pay like everyone else as it is sponsored by The Adult Learning Programs of Alaska and they have to pay for my materials and room space, receptionist to take the registration info etc.

I was a doula first and then certified as a childbirth educator through CAPPA. I offer childbirth classes, but they are NOT included in my doula services. My clients get a lot of information from me, but if they want childbirth education classes or hypnosis classes then they must pay for those in addition to paying for doula services.

I think there is a difference though between helping out and teaching a full class. When helping out as a ppd you give the information that is necessary to make breastfeeding possible, but you don't teach a full class. At least that is how I do it with childbirth education (I am not a lactation educator - maybe someday).
