Registering a business name and logo - What do I do?

Does anyone have anyone infor on how to register a business name and logo? I have no clue. Also does anyone know how much it cost to register a business? This may be a dump question but can I register my business name and logo without really starting a business?

I don't think so. I got my bus. lis and fict. bus. name last week and I've already got like a dozen telemarketers call me! It cost about $50 for both. I've been working with The Small Business Administration. Their web site is www.sbdc.net (not sure, that may be just Sacramento) you should at least find a link and find your nearest office. They're awesome! They have free or low cost info.
