I am wondering WHAT I should put on my flyers...or should I have a brochure? Flyers and business cards should be sufficient, huh?
I wonder if anyone would mind sharing with me what their flyer looks like. I have many ideas (and I promise I won't steal yours!) but I'm trying to make sense of it...what is TOO much information about myself or what a doula is...what is enough to make people interested?
I have been meaning to add a few things to my free downloads section, but I need to find the time! I will eventually be creating business card and brochure templates for you to download and customize (and print) yourself. I realize not everyone is interested, but some people like to have a template to give them a start.
I'll most likely be creating the brochure template in a Microsoft Publisher format. Anyways, I have a lot of updating to do around here.

Here is what I did. I printed business cards which include concise minimal information. I have flyers which are three fold and include a brief description of my services, prices, and contact information. The back is an appointment log. I also have detailed general flyers from DONA giving statistical support for doulas and continuous care and another one that gives a detailed answer to "What is a doula?"
I wanted my personal flyers to supply information that is easy to glance at and comprehend. I wanted the other pages to provide detailed information for people who are willing to sit down and concentrate on it a few minutes. KWIM?
I like your brochure, Dottie! Okay, I searched-out this thread for some guidance and I'm hoping to bump it up and get us all some more feedback, because business cards and brochures are my project for the day! Well, okay, I might do some cleaning, too!

Yeah, okay, so I didn't get that cleaning done and my mother-in-law "popped in" for the first time in about two months!
So....no idea, eh? I know you ladies have some awesome ideas! Throw us a bone! lol

I ended up deciding against a brochure and made business cards with my name a logao and my info, especially my website. For me it works better than a brochure....
Vistaprint has great deals on business cards, etc.
I am really good as brochures and flyers. I just haven't done one for myself yet. I will work on one tomorrow and post it.
Bless you! I usually am, too, but I just need a spring-board, ya know?
I did business cards, too, and I am really happy with them, but i want brochures to leave at churches, doc offices, consignment shops, etc...I think it could be a good way of getting the "doula name" out there to the public...ya know...plant some seeds!

Yeah, so i took my card design to Kinkos after printing some myself because i can't cut straight, and after being charged $175 () for my cards and dh's cards, we got them hom eand they were ALL CROOKED!!!! Not ONE looked right! The tops and sides were cut off and they didn't even resemble a rectangle! That were smaller on one end than the other! We were so pissed, so we took them back and got our money back. Now I guess i will just do them myself. I didn't need that many at one time, anyway. Neither did dh. I guess if I get a brochure made, i will post it!

Hey Doulas, I did a simple brochure on a program that we have in the office called Art Explosion. It had a basic templet and then I picked out the fonts and print them out when I need them. We have also done that for business cards but Vista Print also is a great place to go. They do great business cards for and you can reorder as you need to. Check them out!!
