Flyers?

Do any of you hang up flyers in public places? I am thinking about putting up flyers in places like Whole Foods and Earthfare--have any of you done this or have any other suggestions of where to put them?

I think that it is great to put up flyers. I too would put them up in stores on bulletin boards. another thing is advertising on place mats at restaurants. ask owners if you can leave flyers.

good luck

I thought about posting them at Whole Foods too, someone gave me that suggestion. I designed a flyer in Word with the tear off tabs at the bottom so people could tear one off and call me.

Borders bookstore often has a community billboard that you can post on.

Also, my public libraries won't let me advertise (as I'm not a non-profit), but they'll let me leave some Bellywomen fliers (can be printed from their website)in their parenting section. Not only am I listed on Bellywomen, but in the bigger picture, at the very least I feel like I'm spreading the word about doulas, yk?

anywhere women of childbearing age go is a good place to advertise. Try daycares, fitness centers, spa's, salons etc. Maybe talk to some people about cross advertising...look for a massage therapist that does pregnancy massage and offer to put their information in your parent information if they display your info, for instance. someone who does pregnancy photography would be a good one also

I've put them up at Whole Foods, libraries, YMCA, bookstores, etc. I think I have gotten one call, but am not really sure. I got a call from a dad -- he had picked up my flyer at Whole Foods. It never panned out, because mom didn't want a doula...HE did! LOL! But, anyway, you can try Becky. I think you have to be VERY diligent about keeping your flyers filled and not running out....something I am guilty of.

Dot, did you put your fees in the flyer? I'm wondering about that...

I think I am going to work on some flyer type things with a holder for my business cards. I'm trying to decide if I want to invest in doing tis now since I will be taking quite a bit of a break after the baby comes...I would hate to start getting a ton of calls when I am in labor lol...I may make them and wait to put them up until I am ready to begin taking clients after the baby is born.
