I'm having a really difficult time coming up with an image and slogan to represent myself. Part of the reason for this is because I am an artist and photographer so I feel really pressured. Also I take anything that represents me very, very, very, seriously. I just don't know where to start. Does anyone have any advice? I live in an area where I need to be a little sutble about the natural birth aspect on first impression. People in this area are a little turned off especially since we have an 80+ induction rate. Any input would help greatly. Tiffany

This was my exact problem too! I do alot of photography and have a backround in art, but have still yet to come up with something I am wowed on. I like the logo I have, for now, but would love something that was personalized.

I saw that you responded to my other post about my name change so you know that I am going to change my name to Blooming Lotus. My logo also has a lotus picture with it(don't know if you saw it or not). The reason I chose to use a lotus in my design is when I gave birth to my daughter I used the lotus as a focus. I tried to imagine the lotus opening/blooming(my cervix). It is a bautiful flower and in some cultures represents rebirth, so I thought it was really fitting! When I think about it I just smile I know it may be cheesy, but everyone I have talked to told me that you would know when it was right when you would just smile at your name.

So try to find something to put in the logo that makes you happy or represents something for one of your births(if you have had any children).

Are there any colors that are really standing out in your mind?

Do you want your logo to convey a sence of calm, or be uplifting and eye catching(they can both do the same just in different ways)?

Sorry I may just be rambbling, but I know that sometimes it helps to have just some ideas thrown at you. Hope to help a little!

Jessica

I understand how you feel! When it came down to doing my logo I knew pretty much what I wanted but I just didn't feel like I could pull it all together for MYSELF (even though I design logos frequently for other people). It was too stressful for me. I posted a summary and sketch on elance.com and had freelance designers bid on the project. It was completely free to post the project and there was no obligation to choose a bidder. I did end up hiring a designer and ended up with a logo that I loved for only $140!! Most professional designers charge about $300.
