Might be a stupid question...

...but what type of paper do you use to print your brochures??

I'm in the process of making my brochure and I haven't been able to find a thread about the best kind of paper. Regular, glossy?

I want my brochures to look professional, not "hand made by:" Ya know??

Thanks for any tips!

I buy tri-fold brochure paper from Staples (most office supply stores would probably carry brochure paper). Whether to use matte or glossy is a personal choice, but I like the glossy. My brochures are very professional looking, and I'm very proud of them. Using card stock looks too homemade to me, and the brochure paper that I buy is thick and stands up well in brochure stands. The brochure paper is the exact same type of paper that professional printers use.

Not a stupid question at all! Thanks Doula Lori for the info. I've made other brochures in the past from a heavy bond paper (no cardstock) which worked well and looked good. Of course, you could always create your own design and then have them printed out at someplace like Kinko's. I think you can even send them the design on line.

You could always go to a printer and ask to see samples, find what you like and is in your budget, and go from there.
