Starting a collective

I was wondering if those of you who are in a collective could help me out regarding how you run your business. Do you take turns? How much do you give your partner if she has a referral? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Confused - are you thinking of a business partnership, or a doula group for networking & support? When I hear the term "collective" - I think of a local group that provides continuing education, social & networking opportunities, etc. But maybe you're thinking more of a group practice?

I'm a doula who is starting a business/collective with 4 other women. I'm not sure exactly where to begin, and want to make sure everyone is happy and getting an equal piece of the pie, so to say.
