Hee Hee What about the artwork from #1 with the wording from #2? I'm doing this myself so I can play around with it.

I didn't even notice the difference in Mothers and Families. I agree I like Families better.

I changed it to this:
What about the color? Is it too harsh in black and white? I don't know what else would look nice but still be readable.

I got the graphic from istockphoto.com (royalty free pictures you can buy for pretty cheap) and I'm using paint.net as the editor. The program is a little confusing, but its a free download and is similiar to photoshop. I can't afford photoshop, it is WAY too much money for me! I thought I'd give it a try myself before paying someone to do the logo.

I like #1 and #4. They are two very different directions though. Number one I think clients would respond the best to. Number four is the most graphically impactful. Whichever you choose I think you need to make the text part of the logo larger so it is balanced with the graphic. If you choose the mom/baby line drawing then it would be neat to see the "Lily Doula Services" font in a color but keep "helping families grow" black. I'm a big fan of having taglines in a plain text font too. Meaning "helping families grow" would be a non-fancy font like Arial or Tahoma. It gives emphasis to the main business names and is more readable when shrunk down to fit on a business card.

I like #3 best. Color is almost always better. #1 is nice but kind of plain.
