childbirth educator cd rom...

On the birthsource site they have a Childbirth Educator Office CD-ROM i was wondering if anyone has this what they thought of it and would they recommend it. I was trying to read the description and it says that it has everything for the class. Here may be a stupid question but i am not fully certified to be a childbirth educator could i still offer this service with that my business. here is the description.

Comprehensive outline for a 6-class childbirth series and 4 week series. Includes handouts for class participants, registration forms, profressional handouts and more! Designed to enhance your business in the lay and professional community.

thanks

Yes, you can teach childbirth education classes before being certified - just like you can be a doula without being certified. I taught private classes to my doula clients long before I became a certified educator. I think the key is to make sure you don't misrepresent yourself (i.e. don't say you are certified and you will be just fine )

Catiedoula has it. You can PM her.

I am one of those people that says you need to at least train yourself to teach before you go about it.
Read up on different learning styles and invest in something like Teri Shilling's Idea Box. I don't know about other CBEs but I would know your stuff b/c I get a lot harder questions as a CBE then I do as a doula.
I did teach before I got certified though so I do think it can be done.

I second Tamara You know I'm working towards becoming a CBE through ALACE and it's amazing the amount of things I'm learning and I already knew quite a lot. But there's also a difference between knowing the info and teaching it.

But, having said that, I know plenty of educators who are not certified. And they are amazing teachers!

I am interested in this as well. I am actually trying to rush through my ICEA certification because it's about to expire. I need to teach a series first. I am pretty sure I can with all the teaching I do already, it's just developing a curriculum. This might be worth it for me. Hmmm...
