I have been working on a " business name" but can't really decide on anything! Do I need a business name or can I just use my name and put "Doula services"? stupid idea?? If I have a business name I don't want it to be "cute" but strong, if that makes sense. lol I don't want to "steal" another person's name so how do I know if someone else is already using that name?
Some on my list include:
Happy Birthing (probably too cute)
Birth Zone (because I always tell people I was "in the zone" at my last birth)
Labor Zone
Labor Way
Birthing Moments (sounds familiar??)
Powerful Birthing
Empowered Women
As for knowing if your hopeful name is being used elsewhere, maybe someone else will have a better idea than I. My thought is to google it and see what comes up.
i think you should use your name until you find a name that you really love. i was all set to use "doula k" (my first initial is "K") but i wasn't in love with the name. i'm glad i waited because just the other day my husband was joking with me and called me "mami doula" (he speaks spanish) and the name just seemd right. so now my business name will be mami doula.
What's wrong with Ohio Doula? Is it already taken? I don't like the foofy names which is why I chose Mile High Doula. It's very familiar out here (Mile High or Mile Hi). I am sure in the south someone could use Low Country Doula and of course, we could probably get away with High Country Doula too! Not sure what's familiar with Ohio.
Instead of "Ohio Doula" you might want to consider something more specific to your area... that is unless of course you are willing to travel to any birth in Ohio. Most people don't search for :state: doula, they search for :city: doula. You are MUCH more likely to have people find you in search engines if you have a more specific name. It doesn't have to be a city either, it could be the name of a county or a general area. Like here in Seattle I could call myself the "Puget Sound Doula" for example. Anywho, that is just my two cents.
