It just hit me that this is really working!
I had my first official client-birth two weeks ago, (finally) had the pp appt with her yesterday, then had a client interview and hour later and she signed a contract with me and paid her deposit (She's due June 5th!), and then met with another couple today and they signed a contract and we had their first (and only!) prenatal today since she is due Thursday! I have another client due June 24th, and then, that'll be it until I come back from my own maternity leave! It is just so exciting to see that I'm wanted! My client who had her baby 2 weeks ago was so happy with it all and we connected so well that she asked yesterday if we could have lunch sometime and if she could come see me when I have my baby! the couple I met with today know that I am leaving town in the morning and won't be back untl Sunday, and even though they are due Thursday, they said that if I can't make it that they don't want anyone! (they've met the other doula in town in a class at the hospital and when I mentioned that she was my back-up, they both got a funny look on their faces and shook their heads, "no!" I felt bad for her, but it made me feel AWSOME! ) They said that after they met the other lady that doulas in town that they were thinking that there was no way they wanted a doula and that they would just wing it....then, they came to the CBE class I tought and said that after they met me, they decided that they wanted a doulas FOR SURE and that I was the woman for the job! Such a nice compliment! I'm really doing this! I'M A DOULA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This also means that I have enough clients lined up that there's a goo possibility that I'll be done with my cert births before I go on maternity leave! I really hope so! Thanks for letting me share my excitement! I feel like potential clients are just climbing out of the woodworks now, and they seem to like what they see!
Oh, and I'm also getting an average of 2 to 3 calls off my site per month....my DH rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It just hit me that this is really working! 
It is just so exciting to see that I'm wanted!
