Hey Everyone,

I was hoping you could give me some assistance, guidance.

Do you have a website? Would you recommend having one?

How do you trademark a business name?

Should I worry about websites so much?

A website is totally essential in this day and age, it is also the cheapest advertising you will ever buy. Tiffany the owner of alldoulas, milehighdoula and myself all offer free website templates and custom webdesign for doulas at very reasonable prices.

Trademarks I know nothing about though.

Ok, I have a name now, it is a .ca name as I thought it would be good seeing how I am in Canada.

I don't have a hosting site though.. Help!

I use dot5hosting. I get 5 GB so don't have to worry about going over bandwidth. I think I pay about $60 a year for name and hosting. I use it for a lot of my trip reports and other webpages too which are heavy on the picture load so that makes it really nice. http://cloud9doula.com/passenger_rac...enger_race.htm

Heehee, unless you have several videos of births or a ginormous gallery on your website you won't even get close to 5GB of bandwidth per month. I've run sites with over 100,000 hits per month and averaged about 3GB bandwidth use. Stick with the el-cheapo hosting! I also like hostdepartment.com and lunarpages.com if Go Daddy doesn't work for .ca

I use yahoo it comes with their sitebuilder which allows you flexibility to use either templates if your not to savy- or the freedom do do custom design i dont remember the details but it gives you your domain name free (renew in a yr) hosting on a hefty package is only 9.99 a month the run specials all the time for no setup fee so if they are not doing it currently wait to sign up. Also you can down load their site builder free PRIOR to signing up, no point in paying for a site until it is launched and functional! Hope that helps!
