Anyone going to the birthNETWORK conference?

Hey is any one in the Michigan/Indiana/Ohio (or any where else) going to go to the birthNETWORK Mother Friendly Childbirth Conference? I really think that I might try to go! It is not too far from me (Oakland University in Rochester, MI) It is a one day event, and they have some awesome speakers, last year they had Ina May Gaskin! This year they have Barbara Harper, R.N, author of Gentle Birth Choices! It is a fairly inexpensive conference, which really helps for me, LOL. www.birthnetwork.org

Oh, I would LOVE to go, but I can't.

I'll be just getting back from the CAPPA conference GA trip on the 12th, after having been gone a week. Then, I'll have to get right back onto my 3x's a week Chiropractor visits. Ugh...I cannot wait until he gets me down to 2/week, then 1/week, then once a month. Honestly...I'm so tired of going in so often! Ok...sorry for the off topic!

Have a great time if you go to this; it sounds great!

I just got the brochure yesterday, and found this thread while searching for the website. ha! I think I'd like to go, its a four-five hour drive for me, will it be worth it?

I didn't see Barbara Harper on the list of speakers but Barbara Hotelling, MSN, CD (DONA) is listed. Hmmm, I also didnt' see the price just to attend, only prices for "promoting your business". Can someone tell me how much it is? I would love to go to a conference

LOL at self! I was looking at the sponsors section about fees, but I found the other link with fees for the rest of us

Question though, would "student" doulas be considered under the "student" fees? Thanks! I am really looking into going

i have that question too. i emailed them so hopefully i will get an answer i talked to one person and they said no but i wanted to get an offical answer. why dont you also send an email. if they see enough response with that question they may clarify it on the site.

Hi Erin!!!

I would LOVE to go, but probably won't because:

1) I have a client due Sept. 21
2) I just heard Linda Smith at the LLL International Conference
3) Barbara Hotelling is coming to Kzoo to do my DONA training in Sept.

But if Barbara Harper is really going to be there, please let me know! That would definitely be worth it.
