We all talk about it....

Hello Ladies,

Now I have been around for awhile and it has been brought up time and time again. The Prenatal Visits, generally for me all I do is talk and listen. The first one I take notes, fill out HIPAA form, ask questions. Now some of you have mentioned that you put together packages for your clients with information ... what type of info are you giving them (i know the general idea, but now i am requesting specifics). Where do you get the info you are providing them and is it theirs to keep? I have checked out the Cochran Database and B*E*S*T Doula Services, are there any other good site to garner information? I feel as though I should be moving more towards education as I am hoping to get into CBE. I know you ladies can help me. Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for childbirth education stuff, Transition To Parenthood is the place to get some great info, hehe (and fuh-reeee)!
I lived on their website when I first started teaching, LOL!

If you look in the business board we have talked about this extensively and where to get info for parents. I used to photo copy tons of stuff for the parents and give it to them only for some to lose it or throw it out and then ask for a reprint of it, so now I create binders with the info in it. I borrow it to the parents and they return it usually at their second prenatal. This gets the information out there, but also doesn't cost me a small fortune every single time to keep reprinting.
