Talking I got a lot accomplished today!

I'm focusing on my marketing (bus cards, tri-folds and half sheets) but since I'm not very savvy on the computer it's been kinda difficult. So Ariann came over and designed the tri-fold and 2 sided business card. Now I need to write out what info I want on them. Hopefully I can get to that tomorrow.

I also went with Ariann and Sean for their pre-natal. I heard his heart with a fetoscope. I dont like the forehead thing, I'll have to find an alternative. I had a chance to connect with my midwife mentors and got to sit in on a CBE class. I'm hoping they can sign off on my Dona cert requirements.

It felt good to be able to focus so much energy into Expectations...

I love my calling! It makes me soooo happy to be with birthing mommies and their family.

That's awesome!

Monday night was like that for me. I went to file a CBE form away and out came all this stuff that I needed to work on. It feels so great to get it done, it makes me wonder why it's so hard to get started on it.

Christy, the "forehead thing" is a type of fetoscope that has metal going over your head. Some midwifes like them because you get a vibration through the metal on the forehead that goes with babes heartbeat. I've tried it about 15-20 times and just don't like it. It's just too big and bulky and uncomfortable (for me personnally) They make another kind that isn't designed that way.

Hang on, let me look at my Cascade catolog...

K-I couldn't find Cascade but i have their Moonflower catolog let's see if it's in here...

OK, I found one fetoscope in moonflowers the product # is #2055 this is probably what I'll go with in the beginning. They have way more "medical" stuff in their Cascade catolog.

I'm trying to do a link here www.1cascade.com did it work?

Big ladies!!!

Jill,
Is this a fetoscope you already own? I think the fetoscope with the forehead thingie is called a Delee. You can use it without putting it on your head. This is the kind I have, bought for less than $5 on ebay, and then I replaced the tubing because it was old. I need to replace the tubing again, because I don't like that what I've got is too short. Anyway, I use it on myself pregnant, and obviously I can't wear it on my head, doing so. LOL So, if you already own it, just use it that way.

Otherwise, if you don't own one, go for the cheapy Allen-type Cascade sells. From various midwifery opinions I've read, the cheap one is actually easier to hear wiht than the expensive one. Check ebay, too. You can often find fetoscopes of various types there.

Course I'm a fetoscope nut, and I'd like one of each kind. I'd especially like to get one of those teaching headsets, where you can attack a fetoscope to two sets of earpieces, so if you are working with a client, you don't have to switch with her. It gets tricky trying to keep the 'funnel' piece, whatever its called, in the right spot on her belly while passing the ear piece around.
