Does everyone seem to be going overdue??

Ok.. is it just me or does every pregnant woman seem to doing past her EDD.

My last 2 and my present mom all are past dates and the 2 had inductions, and the third is set for monday morning. Unless some of the other inductions for the week go on their own, then hers will be schedualed for later in the week, as she will not quite be 41 weeks.

There are so many inductions, that they are schedualling hers early 40.5 weeks.... they are 'full" the rest of the week. baby is good...and they could wait, but I don't see this mom waiting. Second baby, and its a repeat of her first labour story...which was induced, long and exhausting. ( it was only my third birth...so maybe I will be smarter or know something new for this time)

This is insane. I know she will not be receptive for waiting past 41 weeks. All I can hope is she goes on the weekend on her own. Oh and I doubt she will give up her Monday morning spot either for one a bit closer to her 41 week mark.

And I know from expereince that the nurses will be cranky if they get any 'walk-ins'. LOL all though they love when the walk ins show up with a doula...it means less work for them. But they are just not staffed for walk ins.

Anyone else noticing this trend? Not sure its a trend..it just seems more pregnancies are going past 41 weeks now.

Mine are all going early Michile. I can understand your frustration though. It makes things hard when the talk of inductions come up.
Hang in there!

Well, I work for a hospital program right now and the ones I have been getting are all right on time or a few days before their expected due dates.

My mom was due thursday ... She is getting so tired of the pain and just being pregnant that she said she was going to ask them if they wiould help her along I don't know if they will due to her wanting a homebirth and there is no real reason to induce.

Ya..my mom was due Thursday also. They have already swept her membranes about a week and a half ago. She is 3cms. Dr doesn't know why she hasn't started labour on her own.....duh, maybe because she is not quite ready?!

Grr, I hate this impatience! I've read the actual incidence of postmaturity is only 2%. They are such liars.

My client was also due Thursday and nothing yet, I have to warn her to be prepared for the "induction talk" I know she will get this week at her prenatal!
