ROM/ leaking fluid?

I have a mom who has been contracting all day and now *thinks* she is leaking fluid... I have only had experince with ROM that gushed!!! or AROM... I suggested she smell it, she said it didn't smell like urine and was going to lay down for 30 min then get up and see what happends... anything else I should mention when I talk to her again?

Have her put on a maxipad before laying down for 30 minutes - if it's soaked, it's probably leaking.

I've had four moms in the past 6 months who thought they were leaking fluid - upon getting checked out, only one actually was. All of them said it was clear, didn't smell like fluid and was of a watery consistency (not mucousy at all), but it appears that it was a really fluidy discharge.
