Now that GuruLib is gone (

I'm still annoyed/upset about the hours of work I put in creating an online library and its gone poof) I am looking for a new website.

Reviews please

Also does anyone know of any other options?

I like Shelfari, but I haven't used LibraryThing, so I can't really compare the two. Honestly, I like the look of the "book shelf" and that I can use my Amazon associate ID for recommendations :o) I don't use it to check books out - I just use it to let my clients know what I have, plus I have it posted on my blog (which is separate) for books I love (which is why the Amazon associate ID comes in handy - it's nice when they buy from it! ha!)

I have Library Thing mainly for it's bookshelf capacity. I have the blog widget and it cascades through my collection, which I think is cool. I need to print out a listing, though, and include it in my new client papers!

I've only used Shelfari and love it. I second what Maggie said about Amazon!

I'm really ticked about GuruLib too. I've been searching out options for the last week or so. I also found http://www.goodreads.com/, but I can't get it to keep from automatically translating into german. LOL There is another one I found that begins with an N, but I've lost it again. Funky little name, it was.

I'm bummed because I really liked being able to show that a book was out.

*eta* This seems more similar to GuruLib http://www.booktagger.com/ but I haven't dug more into it yet. Also found http://weread.com/

I'm on a mission to get my books cataloged again this week while I'm not on call since I received a bunch for Christmas & lost my updated listing from G.L. Serves me right for not keeping up with my own list on my hard drive.

FYI GuruLib is back up. I'm going to keep two libraries online from now on. I really like Guru Lib the best, but this going offline for no reason & no explanation is for the birds!

I agree 100% at very least there should be an explaination of why the site was down for so long. I love GuruLib but not the user support. I might maintain my library on GuruLib but I have also decided to list my library on my website. At least I have control over when It comes and

there.
