VBAC without asking for it!!

Okay.. my husbands cousin was preg. with her 4th. child, her first 2 were vaginal delivery the 3rd was a c-sec so she went in for an induction.. when she went in she was 5cm.. so the dr. said to just keep on going.. she was scared b/c of all the talk of uterine rupture.. and the dr. told her not to worry that he was going to be there w/ her.. so she delivered her baby vaginally!

They were going to induce after a c/s?? WHAT??
I'm glad that this had a good outcome for mamma and baby though. Way to go doc! on the patience.

Does she know of the dangers of inducing after a c/s??

Unfortunately, this is still done more often than you realize. With my last VBAC client, her primary OB said that there would be no way that he'd induce or augment her labor since she was VBACing (this was during a prenatal...so who knows if he would've said the same during labor? ). She ended up getting another OB on-call, however, and she mentioned a "low dose of PIT" if mom didn't birth by her EDD. , but momma ended up not giving in to that.

I was thinking the same thing. A VBAC mama should NEVER be induced! But I'm really happy there are still doctors out there who trust in birth!
