In shock over tragic sad news

I am devastated to have to report that my dear friend Michelle Lovgren- midwife at Family Centered Maternity Care birth center where I teach childbirth, beloved wife and loving mother of four (ages 15 years, 14 years, 12 years, and 16 months) and sister in Christ- was killed instantly in a car accident this morning. She was 36.

My heart is breaking. I know the hearts of her husband and children, her business partner and friend fellow midwife Joyce Nelson, and indeed all who knew her and were the beneficiaries of her irrepressible smile, friendliness, good nature and generosity, are also broken. Please keep her family, and all who loved and appreciated her, in your prayers.

If you look at the little slideshow Christmas card that my husband Kurt put together on our website http://www.skoogie.net and you see the picture of Virginia holding Purple Baby. Purple Baby was a gift from Michelle on the day we moved to our new house in May. Our two year old Virginia was freaking out over all the chaos with the moving men and everything, and when Michelle called to see how I was doing and heard how overwhelmed we were, she offered to come get Virginia and take her on errands with her. At Target, one of her errands, she bought Virginia Purple Baby, and PB has been Virginia's constant companion since then. And somewhere on the Family Photos part of the site, there is a picture of Michelle holding Virginia and hugging Isaac.

If not for Michelle's encouragement- to the point of practically kicking my behind- I might never have become a childbirth educator and doula. I am bereft with loss and mourning.

Peace and courage to you dear. It is so hard to be left behind by loved ones. Hold her in your heart and allow youself the time YOU need to grieve the passing of your friend.

Lightbulb Delilah...

I'm so sorry to hear of this news. I know that she will be greatly missed; she sounds like a very lovely person. Rest in the knowledge that she is with our Lord Jesus right now, and that you will be reunited with her in God's perfect timing. What an awesome, awesome day that will be!!! Until then, it will be a difficult time for you all, but you do have that blessed hope. Hang onto that, dear sister.

I'll keep you, and her friends in prayer...and especially her family... that you all be given Strength, the Grace to persevere, and the 'Peace that passes all understanding'. May God be with and bless you all in this time of sadness and mourning!!

Your sister in Christ...

I can barely piece together a string of words after hearing that. The only thing I can say is that I am very sorry that you've lost such a woman.
