Three Postpartums and a new client, all in one day!

So today I had scheduled three postpartum visits because they are in Montgomery and it's an hour drive. I met my Dec client at 10am and saw her little midget. We discussed her birth, how she's doing, any questions, the usual postpartum. She was very happy with her birth, yay! So I had lunch scheduled at 11:45 with another client, and she actually asked me to invite the first client that I met with to come along. THEN she paid for everyone's lunch! We had a great time, I felt good getting those two together because they are both new to town, and I think they'll enjoy one another's company. Then I had to scoot out from lunch to meet with client #3 at 2:00. I went to her home and got to hold her chunky monkey and talk about her birth, and we had a great time. THEN I had an appointment at 3:30 with a potential new client, due in June! She signed the contract! Then I got a call from a client I interviewed with last week, and she is sending her contract in the mail, she's due in February. The other client I met with last week called tonight and said she's waiting for a call back from her doctor who is checking to see if she can bring a birth tub to the hospital. But I'm pretty sure she's going to hire me. Then I had an email when I got home from a lady delivering in March. SO it looks like I'm going to keep up with the busy! YAY! I had a really fun day today.

Busy, busy, busy!! You go girl!!

That's the way I like it!! Last year felt pretty busy for me, but so far I've gotten very few calls for births in the new year. I did interview with a mom due in March on Monday. I was sure she was going to hire me, but I haven't heard from her yet. Yesterday I did get an email from one of the ladies in my Hypnobabies class asking if it was too late for me to be her doula (EDD Jan. 30th). Of course I told her no. So hopefully I'll be going to her birth.

Sounds like you are doing a wonderful job. There is a scripture that says your gift will make room for you.

Y'all are so awesome! I will say that this is the first year that I have been busy since I've been certified, so just be patient and it will work out for you. I've been a doula for almost 12 years, and I was doing at the most 4-5 births a year before this last year. I'm certainly not bragging, it's just so crazy how things have picked up. It's like suddenly the south has figured out doulas!
