Doulas in Redding, CA? I'm in Mich and a friend THERE needs you!
Anybody a doula in Redding, CA? I have a friend looking there for a doula, and though she's only done the rudimentary looking, isn't having much luck finding anybody within an hour and a half of her! If you aren't a doula there, but know one, that would be helpful, too! I have posted on the "Finding your tribe" area for CA at mothering.com and there are a few people who have mentioned that there ARE doulas there, but they don't have specific names for me. Can somebody help us? Thanks!

I'm not in Redding- I'm in Sacramento which is about 2.5 hours south. If she wants to come here, I'll doula for her! :-)
She may want to post on craigslist and see if anything pops up there. I don't know of anyone in Redding in particular but there is at least one doula here in Chico which is closer... but not that close!

I am in Chico, 1.5 hours south. I would venture to guess Sac is more like 3 hours south simply because it takes us 90 minutes to get to Sac to the south, and 90 minutes to get to Redding to the north.
I have a friend who is a doula there and I emailed her (if this is for the same person who left a message on the mothering board). I have not heard from her yet.

Can't help your friend, but where at in Michigan are you? Close to Port Huron? I'm between Marine City and St. Clair, close to Port Huron.

Stacie- you must drive slow LOL. I go to Redding at least once a month to visit my grandma and to Chico to see my brother and it never takes me that long :-) Then again, I never drive in traffic, I'm really careful about timing it! And never never drive during a nut harvest LOL.

Do you take 5 or 99? I could see it going faster from 5, but on 99, it is s-l-o-w!

To Redding I take 5 because I'm right by the airport. To Chico I take 70 through Oroville then cut across.

I'm in Clarkston. I've worked in your area, though...at St. John's River Place. Mama had an a*% for a doc, but the rooms were nice...

YUP, I'm one and the same who left the message on the mothering.com boards. Thanks for emailing your friend...is she Brandi? She contacted me, so I hope it pans out for my friend. Thanks so much!

Cool, then she'll really have a choice, and will be able to find the doula who best fits her needs.
