Doula Trivia

What about if we had a weekly chat session where we had a trivia quiz each week?
I would personally love this! It would give us a chance to think on our feet and brush up on our Doula/birth related knowledge!

Maybe we can even have someone keep track of "points" and at the end of the month have some sort of "prize" (a special feature on the forum, or an actual gift - a donated book or Doula tool etc).

What do you all think?

Sounds good, I wish I could get a local study group together that quized each other. I feel like I have to go back and look up stats I use to have memorized.

Can we have different groups, like new Doulas and guru Doulas. I'm afraid us new Doulas would not keep up with you gurus if we did points.

We don't have to allocate points.. It might actually be better if we don't (but who doesn't love prizes? LOL!)..

It would be great just to be able to get together and quiz each other, I think that would be beneficial to a lot of us (especially those that learn better this way).

Is this something we can organise ourselves, or do we need clearance from Tiffany?

Also, I seem to recall that some of our members can't get into the chat room. We wouldn't want to disclude anyone...

Maybe we can have a weekly test (similar to the Member Spotlight). It would be a list of questions posted each week and then you could scroll down to see the answers. We wouldn't post our answers - we would just write them on a sheet of paper or something.. and then maybe post our scores or questions we had about anything.

I'm not sure. I like the chat idea better I think, but a quiz thread has it's benefits too (so if you missed a chat session you wouldn't miss the knowledge).

Maybe we could have the quiz night and then post the questions and answers the following day in a thread (or a copy of the conversation)?

maybe instead of a quiz just a topic to look up and discuss. Kind of like a book club but more like a topic club. There is so much information out there that sometimes we don't know where to start. We could brainstorm a topic list and go from there. does this make sense at all? We could share great resources we find, printables, stories from experience etc.

That sounds great Christy, but (and I'm probably going to offend someone here unintentionally) that's what I would expect from our great forum leaders.

I'm not sure what the exact duties are, but I thought a function of their job would be regularly initiating some great topics to keep us discussing relevant things in each subforum.

I think that you are right. Now with that said, couldn't we all come up with a topic and pm it to the forum leaders and they could post which ever one in random order and that way it would be like a book club and also we will learn a lot (man that's a run-on sentence if I've ever seen one!

Of course Tiffany has been hinting about some big changes etc coming up this month. I wonder if we are thinking up something she has already thought of for us....wonder if she will be able to find time to complete them now. The suspense has been killing me!! lol

I think it's a testament to Tiffany's wonderful site that we are all so eagerly jumping the gun, LOL!
Glad to know I'm not the only one who has wondered too much about new changes, hehe!
