You can do this by using BBCode (or the little insert image icon in the editor toolbar when you're making a post) to insert an image that you have hosted on your webspace or an image hosting site like photobucket.
Make sure the image in your signature isn't too big, because then people have to scroll a lot and it gets bothersome.
