Fundraising idea for our beloved AllDoulas.

I belong to another, non doula related forum who I thought had a good idea about raising monies for site maintenance. They are an outdoor site and has a board for buying, selling, swapping outdoor gear. Why could we not put something like this into effect to help make money for site maintenance too? I know there may be some concerns that it would decrease the popularity of the Doula Marketplace but you could do a poll to see what the views on it are. lI don't think anyone would begrudge a small percentage going to the site that makes their sales possible.

Of course the percentages would be different as they sell some pretty high dollar items there but here is the gist of it and the link to the full rules if you want to take a look to get ideas.

I'm on a parenting board and we have a cafe press store that helps to fund the site. Just another idea.

I think this is a great idea. Cafepress is really easy to set up and use and I would definitely buy an alldoula's t-shirt.

I'd also like a button that says "Alldoulas.com" and our own username. It would be great to wear to conferences! I think it'd be awesome to advertise Alldoulas and yet let other Alldoulas members know who we are at first glance at the same time!

That is great! I recently saw dorthy (or she saw me) at a conference, but we didn't meet b/c she didn't know for sure if it was me! Of course, Aussie would have to give herself away if she wore one

I could mess around with photoshop and try to come up with something if she wanted but she should be able to easily upload her logo or some other images used on alldoulas and use those.

I am not at all creative in a computer graphics kinda way but came up with some t-shirt ideas.....

Like one with the flower at the top of the page with "I'm an alldoula, are you?

or another one with one of the cartoon figures around the site - with a doula fact

or "empowered by ... (you know like the bumper stickers that read powered by natural gas, etc)

That is the extent of my brainstorm! (or if you hate them - my brain fart!) R

(and yes for those who know me in real life - I just typed f-a-r-t!!!!)

Ohh, a cafepress store is a great idea! We wouldn't have to limit it to "AllDoulas" logo stuff either, we could do some other doula shirts, too.

I would design special AllDoulas underwear so I could still support the site but remain safely annonymous, LMAO!

I have always had plans to sell AllDoulas merchandise, but was never satisfied with the logo. AllDoulas is getting a major overhaul over the next 6-8 weeks and we're getting a new logo, so I would like to wait until then.

Cafepress will come soon enough, my pretties!
