Everytime I log on now, an Active X window pops up for me to download. Is this necessary? Is it related to this site, or is it my PC. It only pops up on this site.
Do you get it when you are logged in? Or do you see it until you log in? Also what browser and OS are you using?
Last night I set up an information bar that pops up and looks exactly like an Active X message, but it says "You aren't currently registered with our community, click here to register..." and it only shows up for those who are not logged in.
It should look like the attached image

I'm not getting it (but then I have my "remember me" button clicked and never actually log out hehe).
During the "test" period last night, I had it pop up while I was not logged in (encouraging me to log in) so I would say it was working as it was intended.
I can see how it might be extremely confusing (possibly annoying) for some. Usually that bar is associated with something you have to download/a computer problem...
oO(Even though I had fun clicking around a lot last night just to hear the "bloop!" sound)

I get the attached image you've shown, as well as a smaller window. I never 'log out' so to speak. I just close the window, and carry on as usual.

I don't see it while logged in. I only saw it once last night during the test period, when I wasn't logged in (sometimes I log out, sometimes I don't). As soon as I logged in, it disappeared. I realize that this info doesn't help for those who are having problems, but thought you might like to know, Tiff, that not everyone is having these problems.
Those of you that are getting an additional active X box.. is there anything you can click on it to make it permanently disappear? Does it ask you to install something?
Answers to these questions are helpful in my debugging process.

I use Internet Explorer and XP. I dont log out, just close the window. When I open alldoulas back up I get the bar at the top and the ActiveX window. THe only option is to click OK on the ActiveX window, can't do anything without doing that. When I clicked the bar at the top it told me that I already have registered and told me where to click if I lost my password etc. But, it doesn't require me to sign in...I can just go straight to forums (from there or without clicking that top bar).

I don't log out, and I've been getting the old "active x" for several days now, too. I have no idea why, I meant to ask about it, then found this thread.

Ok please tell me what version of Internet Explorer you are using. I am trying to duplicate this error on our two home computers with different browsers and versions.
Thanks for your help with this.

Just so you know, from someone who is NOT having these issues: my version of MIE is 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp.....(a bunch of other numbers that probably won't matter), with SP2 (security package)
