Unable to post

Hi there!

I have tried THREE different times to post a reply in the "furthering your education" forum and I can't. I press the send button and wait....and wait...and wait, and nothing goes through. Hmmmm, is it just me?

Hmmm..... I see that you can post here. Is it only in that thread? In which particular thread were you trying to reply? I want to see if I have the same problem or not, but I want to try it in the same location.

It was the post from CatieDoula about med school. Oh well, not an emergency. Thanks for checking for me.

if you are using the quick reply box at the bottom try clicking the "go advanced" button just below the box. Sometimes my computer seems to get stuck sending something from the quick reply box but it'll go through if I try this.

I don't know why, but I never use the Quick Reply box and always click on the reply button on the lower left. Like Christy said, see if that makes a difference. I just posted a reply in Catie's thread and didn't have any problems.

After trying what Christy said, please let us know if it continues. If all else fails, we'll have to escalate this to Tiff. Our Tiff knows everything!

Happened to me the other day when I tried to reply a second time to the birth plans thread. I tried to "go advanced" but that hung, too. I figured it was a system burp.

Same thing happens to me sometimes. I find that hitting the 'go advanced' option works great for me too.

Yes.. yes yes!! When using QuickReply and Edit if it hangs, like the others have said, please click the Go Advanced button!

The reason behind this is because the QuickReply box and Quick Edit boxes work off AJAX. This is a technology that is affected by server latency. So if there is a lot of traffic going on or congestion in the network it will "hang". It is very convenient WHEN IT WORKS because there is no "page refreshing" involved like there is when you have to click the go advanced buttons.

I use the Go Advanced button too when things get stuck.
