Help me with my henna challenge!
I am participating in a henna challenge. The focus is on shading techniques. The subject must be from a famous painting. Here is the album of my original choices. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a%20Challenge/
I think I have narrowed it down a bit more though to these:
Nude Youth Sitting by the Sea, 1836
The Birth of Venus, 1836 (I would not be doing the cherubs though.)
Young Girls by the Sea, 1887 (I would only do the girl standing up with the long hair.)
So which of these do you think would be the most impressive in henna?

OMG OMG! I just thought of this today and am SOOOO freaking excited about it.
I am editing this post as I decided to keep my idea a secret from the online henna world (not my doula sisters who have already read it). I don't want to give the idea to anyone who might happen by here who is also participating lol.

Today is the day that we start. I'm also using some two tone effects so we will be redoing some areas tomorrow. Then Monday we are going out to the lake to take the submission photos. So it is a 3 day affair. My model will be here in a couple of hours.

That is an AWESOME idea! I too love the third one the best. You've got this challenge in the bag!

Phase one complete! WOOT WOOT! I am happy with it. It took 3 and half or 4 hours. That's including time for two layers of lemon sugar sealant and drying time in order to cover it.

Hahah not necessarily. There are wold famous henna artists with YEARS of experience doing this. So I am basically doing it for what it is, a challenge. An opportunity to go outside of my comfort zone and try something new.

You have such awesome ideas, Georganne! I'm glad that you're going with the third one, as I also like that one best. I'm anxious to see your finished masterpiece!
I love henna art - I mostly just doodle with mine though. There isn't anyone here in this town that does it professionally that I have found - otherwise I would probably be just as addicted to it as I am tattoos. LOL
Can't wait to see how this turns out - Very exciting!!!!!!!
