got a henna buyer!!

someone at the pool asked about my henna, and who did it. "I did!" I said. she said she had been wanting to get one done and all that jazz. I HATE selling myself but a freind of mine said, "she can do it for you! Look she did mine!" and basically sold me.
So on monday, she's getting her henna. COOL!
she saw all mine and my freinds and loved it. I'm of course nervous that I'll screw it up but, I did another freind and 3 of her girls last night (I'll have to take pics of hers, its REALLY cool I think, its a grapevine up her leg... ) and was all nervous but got over it.

She asked what I charged, and I said I didnt charge anything b/c I was so new, but she said, "you'll have to take a donation then".
my freind paid me 20 bucks for her 2 designs and her girls' 3 designs... so thats 20 bucks for 5 designs, one really big design. I would've charged her $15 for the one on her leg, and $5 for each of the girls and her littler design, which would have been $35 but, I'm so new... ya know... I cant charge people. I'll take what they give me though.

I'm excited!

NO doula clients.

Hey, that is very cool and I hadn't thought about it but the pool is probably a great place to show off your art. Now, I just wish you or Georganne lived closer...

Congratulations! If you are going to the pool, rub a thin coat of vasoline over your henna to help protect it from the chlorine. Now, just like doula work....don't do much of it for free. Offering to take donations is fine of course. Good luck and have fun!

Ok so i did hers, she paid me $10 for a little bitty design.
I'm gonna charge my camera today and take a picture of it for my portfolio tomorrow. A freind of hers and actually someone I went to church with when I was 9 wanted one, and I did a big buterfly on her hand. She didnt pay me
But as I was wrapping her up someone else came and asked me how much it would cost for me to do a flower of butterfly or something small on her daughter tomorrow.
I said $5 for a small design... $10 for a medium one and $15 for a big one. I would have charged the second woman $15 because the butterfly was big.
My freind with the vine I would've charged at least $15 becasue it was humungous, and her girls' small ones $5/peice exept one had a bigger butterly, $10.
So I SHOULD have (including being overpaid for the small design)
$10 for the small one
$5 for the freind's small one
$15 for the other woman's big one
$20 for my freind's huge one
$10 for the two small ones on her girls
$10 for the medium one for her other girl
$70!!!!
I really need to do better about charging!
I could have more that recouped my cost of buying the henna by now if I had been paid what I was worth!!!

:?

BUt instead I got $30. Thats $40 that I should've gotten that I didnt!

Ok so now I'm all fired up about charging!
