Need Advice- I want to offer belly casting at local spas!

Ok...I saw in the tv spas offering belly casts as a package for a massage or a hair cut. Well I like to see if a spa would be willing to offer this in my town...of course me doing the belly casts.

What do you think?
Do you think it work?
How do I go about on doing it?
Do I call, email or do it in personal?
What do I say?

If I were going to try to make this work I think I would first try to contact the person doing the belly casting in the other spa. She may have some great advice for you. Put together a portfolio of the casts you have done as well. I am sure ladies with more business experience will have more detailed advice but getting info about how much business the other spa does with it could only help! Good luck. I say go for it!!

Susan,

Apparently the other spa believes their plan will be successful -- some new ventures are and others go belly-up. I'd take the ad from the other spa to a spa in your town.

ditto Christy -- take a portfolio, if you like, call the bellycaster at the other spa for tips bearing in mind this may be experimental.

Don't forget you need a way to scratch their back. Can you send them clients or put their stuff in your client package?

I would not email. I'd go in or write, following up with a phone call.

Do you think I should stop by or do you think I should set up an appt?

I am all about face to face. Stop by to make an appointment...make sense? Tell the receptionist you would like to speak to the owner/manager about offering a new service another spa in a neighboring town is offering and ask when would be the best time to meet with him/her. If they are available right then...great! If you can make an appointment...just as good. Maybe you could make up something to leave for the owner/manager about it. What you are suggesting, what kind of experience you have with it....things like that. I don't know if I would try to do it that way or just wait until I could sell myself. Anyone else with thoughts on this??

Ok..I will do that. However the only spa that I found that offered this services is in another state not my state. Sorry but what do you mean by "just wait to sell myself"?

I don't know if I would try to put together, on paper, what I was suggesting or just wait to present the idea in a face to face meeting. I think it would look great to have ideas on paper in a professional way but at the same time I would hate for someone to decide against it based on said paper before they even met me. I have found that being passionate about what you do can be contagious!

You could write up a proposal to bring with you to the meeting. That way you can leave it with the person you interview with so they can look at it more. Provide links also.
