DONA session on EOs.

If any of you are going to the conference you might want to check out this session:

305 - Evaluating Methods to Enhance Labor
presented by Karen Newell

The use of medical agents to induce or augment labor is widespread. Non-medical techniques are often taught in childbirth classes or promoted by doulas or midwives. Many mothers are using herbal or homeopathic remedies, or essential oils, either with or without supervision or recommendation of a clinical practitioner. A review of the literature examines the safety and efficacy of many of these techniques. A discussion of the role of the doula promotes the position that the doula does not prescribe or recommend treatments which have documented risks to clients, but is educated about the most common modalities and is prepared to provide informational support to clients who ask.

Thanks for the headsup on the EO class. I had to check my list of the ones I had signed up for! It's not one I selected but certainly isn't bc I wasn't interested. They ALL held an interest for me this time. If only I could be in that many places at one time. Such a wealth of information to learn.
Hope to see you there in a little over a week.
