Nausea
Okay ladies - so I am seriously considering getting pregnant again and suffer terribly from nausea throughout the entire pregnancy. It starts very early - even before I know I am pregnant and goes until the day I deliver. With my last couple of pregnancies the only thing that got me through was eating shock tarts, but to be real honest the whole thought of putting one more shock tart in my mouth makes me feel ill (I ate so many of them). I hate the taste of ginger too. Crackers don't work either
So what things have worked for you? For your clients?
I know we have had threads on this before, but I am too darn lazy to locate it

Hmm... have you tried sea-bands or peppermint? My aromatherapist friend gave me some peppermint hydrosol that I can spritz near mom of she feels nauseated.
OOO, I also just read something on Mothering about adding some apple vider vinegar to your drinking water. I'll have to find that...

Oh YUCK! I've had four babies and am pregnant with #5. For 2 I was horrid sick, for 2 I was happy as a clam and felt great the whole time. I noticed that with the 2 I felt great I took high-quality vitamins prior to getting pregnant and was generally eating well and exercising. When I was sick, nothing worked, except w/ my first my midwife made a suggestion but it's illegal so I'm not recommending it.

Hmmm, interesting. I have never tried peppermint and apple cider vinegar - oh that sounds gross LOL. Then again who knows when I get to that point I might be so desperate

It's legal in some states via prescription. I bet it's safer than phenergan and cheaper than Zofran.
I'm square too -- certainly much squarer now than I was in my youth.

Unfortunately I don't want to and have never taken anything prescription for nausea. My solutions were crackers, ginger ale, sweet tarts, etc. With one of the pregnancies I ended up coming out 30 lbs lighter than when I went in. Man did I look great LOLOL. I know I shouldn't look at it positively, but at the time I had to see some positives in the whole mess.

I forget which B vitamin it is (7, 12?), but I think in high doses there is a B vitamin that helps nausea. I have total preggo brain right now and no time to look it up. Helpful I am, as always!

Yep I have heard this works! although you would think it to be different it's not,so I hear.
To be honest I drink this everyday because there are sooooooo many more benifits to taking it as well. You can add honey to counter act the tart flavor.

You girls have pretty much covered everything here...the only thing I could think of would be aromatherapy. I've tried it myself for anxiety, tension, colds, muscle pain, etc. It could be worth a shot!

Tiffany, you beat me to it. It's B6 I believe, and B12 can help to. I'd recommend a good B complex supplement, cause that will take care of the folic acid, too. Start now.

illegal so I'm not recommending it.
That is what I would suggest...
I have a friend who swears by B6.
I have never had pregnancy nausea, but I was sick in the past and nausea was a huge problem. I found peanut butter and saltines work well to keep a queasy feeling away. Letting myself get hungry was a problem..I worked on munching all day long, keeping blood sugar even etc..
