Emergen C What do you use it for?
Ok, now I'm asking the question I've been wondering for quite some time. Just what exactly do you all use Emergen C for...besides staving off a cold? I've never used it but I see it EVERYWHERE.
???
Thanks,
Abby

I use it for an energy boost during a long birth. I've drank it when I have a headache. I used it when I was quitting smoking. You can also use it while you have a cold to help with a speedy recovery, and stave off secondary infections.
I give it to my daughter in a fancy cup. When you add water it fizzes up, so kids think its a treat, but its actually vitamins.

They have raspberry and tangerine flavors. DP like raspberry and I like tangerine. They don't taste great, but they aren't gross either.

I dont like them alone, so I mix mine with OJ.. Found that out fast. LOL It's weird with the OJ ( I got tangerine, only kind they had) but I can stomach it..
What's great though, my toddler loves it!! She has a cold so I've been giving her some too.

I have tangerine. I'm not a fan of the taste, kinda chalky and unusual, although not horrible. Tell yourself that it's good for you and toss it back!

Good during labor
It has electrolytes which are good during labor along w/all the vit. and mins. They're are at lest 6 diff. flavors if not more. There is a 500mg dose for kids in strawberry and then the customary 1000mg. and there's even an immune booster and a joint formula now. My kids love it. They call it vit. c juice. It's great to take along in your doula bag. Just add water for a little pick me up when you can't get anything else.

Although I bought some primarily for myself while on duty, my last client drank 4 of them during her 36-hr labor! She loved them (lemon-lime and cranberry, I think) and it gave her some pep without a lot of bulk. I would definitely recommend them for clients. I haven't had any yet, so I can't comment on the taste. They do fizz up like soda, though....kinda neat. I bought them at a health food store.

I like every flavor I've tried. There's quite a few flavors.
I drink it when my kids are sick and I'm trying NOT to get sick. I drink them when I'm feeling tired and run down. I stuck some packets in my doula bag.
My husband calls Emergen C "hippie Koolaid" LOL
Our kids don't like it all that much, but they'll drink it if we tell them they have to. They dont like carbonated beverages though, anything that fizzes they call "spicy" and they don't like "spicy"

I always bring Emergen-C in my birth bag. Mostly for me, to bolster my immune system when not getting sleep or working in a birth center or hospital where there are lots of potentially sick people.
I've given it to a few clients during labor who didn't want to drink water, or couldn't eat anything but needed a little nutritional boost, and also for clients with their bag of waters broken for a long time to support their immune system.
I like Raspberry and Lemon-Lime, I'm don't like Cranberry, Orange, or the Calcium version. They have strawberry for kids too.
I'm going to go have one right now! They are also consumed wildly in my home whenever someone is sick or under a lot of stress.

A midwife suggested using it to undo any possible damage to my baby due to all the u/s's my OB had done (4 so far). I'm not totally sure I am convinced that u/s are really THAT bad, but I can say that I can't imagine that many are good either and Emergen-C would be safe to try!

At my store they had Tropical flavor. I love anything labled "tropical" so I tried it, by far my fave now. I drink it myself to keep me from getting sick. My family has been catching EVERYTHING this year! (Our son is in school now... no wonder!) My son likes it because it turns his water different colors!

I've been using emergen-c for years. My naturopath says if you wake up in the middle of the night drink one of those and it'll help you get back to sleep. If you have chapped lips and lower back pain, that shows a need for potassium, which emergen-c is High in.
I used it during labor with my daughter. I drink it when I feel a cold coming on because of the vitamin c. Great stuff.

I drank some of it about 30 some hours into my birth and it was a great energy boost. I now use it to stave off/shorten the duration of colds and it competely works. I can't take it before bedtime though, it completely keeps me awake
