Wild Yam vs Natural Progesterone

Has anyone here used either a "natural" progesterone cream or wild yam? I have read the following 2 things 1.the natural" progesterone can be called natural because it matches the hormoone made in the body even though it is made in a lab and
2. diosgenin in wild yam is a precursor to progesterone but does not convert to progesterone in a woman's body, even though people say it does.
Because of other research (and the recommendation of a medical DR) I am wanting to try one of them before I try anything prescription but unsure of which way to go because of the above. SO just would like to hear other people's experience with either.

I've used natural progesterone cream off and on for about 5 years. I've had the best luck with prescription natural progesterone cream prescribed by my midwife. It's a little stronger than the OTC kinds you can get at the health food store.
I would talk to your midwife (or knowledgeable physician) about it.
I'm using Nat. Progesterone cream right now for hormonal fluctuations that are causing me to have anxiety. This happens to me right around this age with all my children. They start nursing less and my body doesn't know how to handle the hormones. My body is very very sensitive to hormones. I also used it directly after childbirth to combat PPD that I usually get as well. I can tell you for a fact that Natural Progesterone cream worked BETTER than the Zoloft I took after the birth of my second child without the weird side effects.
I don't know much about wild yam cream other than what you already posted. It doesn't convert in your body. It's pretty much useless. I have heard it can help with vaginal dryness though. I don't know, it's been a long time since I read up on it.
