Airborne

Has anyone tried Airborne? This is something that can help boost your immunity - has vitamins and amino acids (I think that is what the package says) so that you won't get sick. I bought the generic brand that Walgreens has and it is in Grapefruit flavor and it is so tasty. I love it and have actually been drinking one to three of these a day and I never got the last few severe illnesses my kids have gotten.

Yes I have..and Emergen-C. I know of some that swear by it. I have to send my mother n law shipments of it in England. It loaded with vit C, so it surely can't hurt. I try to take it before going to a birth, sometimes during, and after.

Emergen-C does absolutely nothing for me. I've not tried Airborne yet, but maybe I'll give it a try!

Drink a cup a day keeps these kids germs away... I use the adult and the kids all get a cup of the grape kids stuff.. so far no one has came home with any illness this cold season..
We also drink the kids teas from traditional meds they have a new kids line. Taste soooo good

Well, I need to try this Airborne stuff, then, because I have had one too many colds over the past few months. Drinking Emergen-C regularly hasn't helped at all, but maybe this other stuff will. Thanks for your encouraging post, motherstouch!

Airborne never seemed to work for me. Last time I began taking it was about March of last year when I felt like a cold might be coming on. I started taking it 3 x a day for a couple of days, but got worse. Turned out I had pneumonia! Ever since then, I just haven't been able to take it, because it reminds me of being so sick for 2 weeks last year. I know that sounds completely silly!

I have been trying cold-eez lately, no idea if that works either, but it can't hurt.

I believe Airborne is to be taken before you get sick - as a preventative not once you are sick. You should take it before you go into public - at least that is what the package says. It isn't for once you are sick, but instead to prevent it. It was created by a teacher who was around little snotty kids all day long (I can so relate after my short stint of subbing).

Cold eeze always seems to dry out my mouth and throat - anyone else get that effect?

Yeah...that's the stuff with zinc in it, right? Zinc always has that effect on me. I also really dislike the taste of zinc.

Hmmm....I always thought you were supposed to take it as soon as you felt like you were getting sick, guess I heard that somewhere and it just stuck in my had. Still, whenever I think airborne, I think a phlegmy chest even though I know it's nonsense. Sort of like this ban I had against chicken soup for several years after I was a kid because my mom gave it to me so much when I had one horrible case of chicken pox. I was just sure the chicken soup was making it worse.

and yes, cold eeze makes the inside of my mouth feel like I'm in the middle of the desert. Yuk.

Zicam is the one you are supposed to use when you start feeling cold symptoms. It is supposed to shorten the lenght of the cold etc. we use it here but I can't tell you 100% that it works. We are a family with allergies so I don't know if it is shortening colds or if it is just that we had allergy symptoms lol Plus you are supposed to use it often for the first couple of days and I can never remember to do it as often as you are supposed to.

My Mom uses Airborne because she does a lot of travelling, and she claims it works for her. I've used it but I honestly don't remember , for me, if it worked or not.
