Young Living Oils?

Does anyone have real experience using this brand? They are so expensive but I have heard some good things about them. Are they worth it? If you use them, what do you use and how? (saw on an old thread that Tiff and Georgeanne use Calming Baby- so I did search before asking ).

Check out the site sponsor on the home page, Sunshine Doula. I believe I recall reading on her website this is the oil she uses. I am sure she could answer many questions if you pmed her or directed her to this thread so we can all learn.

I did read the article and the other threads where YLoils were mentioned. Still trying to figure out the correlation between online acquitances testimonies and the oils themselves. I am not interested in them for healing just if the oils are in fact of good quality to use (how many midwives have I heard comment on clary sage for instances)...I am thinking that I don't want this company to have my money...just looking for all the risks and benefits.

Thanks!

hi,
i use yl oils and really like them. i became a distributor so i can get a better price, i never got into doing it as a business as some people i know have.
i think the oils are good quality, although i have heard from some serious aromatherapy people that they a good quality, but there are better ones out there and cheaper. yl is pricey probably because it is a multi level marketing company and thats how people make the money, they have a complex commission set up.
i know there are some websites selling really good oils. the thing to make sure that it says therapeutic grade essential oils. i sometimes take the oils internally, so it has to be pure to do this
if you have any questions with any of the blends or specific oils i would be happy to answer you. there are a few i really love!

From YL I have Gentle Baby, Peppermint and Thieves. I love them all. They are about 2 years old now, and I haven't bought anymore oil since. I wonder if I can find a canadian manufacturer.

So how do you reconcile the "reputation" that Gary Young has with how well the oils seem to work?
Keep in mind you are talking to someone who boycotts Nestle.

I've never heard anything bad about the oils with exception to the price. I attended a small seminar on aromatherapy at a local "crunchy" store and spoke to the instructor after the class. I had heard so many good things about YL oils that I was curious about her opinion. Interestingly, she had distributed YL oils at one time lol. Basically, she said they were good oils but the claims that other oils that are less expensive etc aren't going to be effective were untrue. Yes, this store does sell a particular brand but the instructor showed me her box of oils with a variety of brands and assured me that there were many good ones available.

I don't sell or buy Young living because they seem to have a large religious affiliation, they are expensive, and to me seem like Amway/Avon of Essential Oils - you have to be a rep, you can't be a store to sell them and you have to buy in with a starter pack, etc.

I sell, stock and use Colour Energy essential oils. They are not as expensive as YL, they are steam distilled, just like YL and are wonderful. They have Therapuetic Blends - the best is Hormone Relief which actually works during my cycle to relieve breast swelling, Headache relief - that works on my migraines, and Pain Relief - a more natural form of something like bengay. Digest/Detox smells great but I have not found it to do anything to be honest. They sell Charka Blends that I so carry in my shop but whether or not they physically work on some level remains to be seen, I do however believe that the psyche is powerful and if you want them to work they will - they smell great.

They also offer a complete line of non blended, pure essential oils. I am more than happy to order them and pass on savings to everyone else. I also carry a less expensive line for use in lotion bases, diffusers, etc. that I don't know how they are made, processed, etc. and you can buy these from azuregreen.com online just like I do.
feel free to PM me with questions about essential oils, etc. I am glad to answer and help if I can.

I teach aromatherapy certification programs at my school at more massage therapy programs at colleges so I can't ethically comment or have an opinion, but I can tell you of some places that are not MLM and great.

i absolutely refuse to use any young living product because of the history Gary Founder has. he has operated several scams including running clinics in the US and Mexico where he blatantly made promises to "cure" disease with his quackery.

After watching several people close to me die from cancer, I am particularly disgusted by people promising to cure such diseases with what is essentially a magic wand. in addition he was proven to be falsely diagnosing healthy people with varous ailments - all of which he could treat for the right price.

sorry to go off on a tangent but I find this man and his operations despicable. There are a million and one places ot buy quality essential oils without having to deal with a scam artist.

p.s. i also boycott nestle!
