Hi everyone! Just a few reminders about our community.
Alldoulas was created, first and foremost, to be an environment of friendship and support. We are here in the doula spirit to lift each other up, help each other out, and help solve problems that might arise in our doula-ing (and sometimes personal) lives. It is a great place to receive constructive criticism, learn new doula tricks, and even to celebrate or vent about a birth.
Respectful debate is always welcome, although not necessarily the focus of our community. We definantly do not all have to agree! Everyone is free and entitled to have their own opinions and thoughts, while keeping those opinions and thoughts respectful and amicable. Many of us are passionate about our careers, about doulas, and about birth, and hold high standards of care for our positions. This is a GREAT place to learn about what it means to be a doula, and to continue to learn!

Negative and Defamatory Posts About Other Doulas
Since AllDoulas.com is about doulas supporting other doulas, talking negatively and defamatory of other doulas (even if you aren't naming them) is completely out of the scope of our website and is no longer allowed. AllDoulas is not a place to sort out personal disputes, even through our PM or email features. If you need advice on what to do about another doula in your area that you are having an issue with, please contact their certifying organization, or consult a legal expert. AllDoulas staff will remove parts of posts or entire posts if they contain negative, slanderous, or defamatory remarks about other doulas, identified or not.

In the bottom corner of everyone's profile box is a "report post" feature. A triangle trimmed in red with an exclamation point. If you feel a post is out of line, or not within the Community Guidelines, please feel free to click that button and report the post!
Also, please keep in mind the importance of client confidentiality here on the forums. Keep identifying details vague when discussing an issue about a client, or when telling a birth story. Remember this also when posting birth pictures on the site. Most of the time, written permission should be granted by the couple, since this is a very intimate and special time in their lives.
Don't forget about our "Groups" feature! Alldoulas Club members can create groups for a specific cause or interest, or check out some of the other groups already created!
