Remember how I needed 2 babies in 2 weeks?

I just may have it! My client due the 28th (today?) had her baby yesterday. My client due the 10th is being induced tomorrow morning (her first baby had shoulder dystocia, so instead of having a cesarean, which was offered, she is being induced).

So it looks like, *keeping fingers crossed that the induction goes well*, I can see my dad for 4th of July after all! He is comeing from Arizona, and we haven't seen him since a year ago May! We are going to Monterey . Wish me luck!

They are inducing because previous baby had shoulder dystocia? Gads what morons. That's a good way to almost garuntee that this baby will get stuck as well. If mom's body has not had the benefit of all the relaxins that she would have when labor starts naturally, then her pelvis will not be able to open and be as flexible as it should be.

So, true . Hope my post didn't come across crabby...sort of thinking out loud. Again, I hope all goes well for the induction! Keep us posted!

Induction went well. baby was 38 weeks, 3 days, and she weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces. Dates are very accurate because mom charted. Guess what? She had very sticky shoulders -- mom had to roll over into hands and knees at the last minute, and push HARD! Baby also had a tight nuchal cord.

Everything went well, although at one point I felt she might be heading to a cesarean birth. Baby latched on and nused (with swallows!) for 45 minutes, and she was sleeping when I left.

Mom feels confident she made the right decision, and I am happy for her .
