Ok, with my last VBAC birth the OB insisted on and IUPC and and internal scalp electrode to monitor for distress and contraction strength. The idea behind this being this could indicate a rupture faster.
Now, I've read the recent medical guidelines state that women with one previous low-transverse incision should be treated the same as women without a previous cesarean. So, this to me is a contradiction.
What are everyone's thoughts on this?

I think that hospitals are so scared of being sued that they do everything possible to cover their rears. So it might not be 'necessary' or evidence based, but they can say 'hey, we had our biggest and best monitors' so they can cya kwim? Just my lol
