I had to laugh at this comment -"A Baby Story"

Okay...so I have been watching A Baby Story lately and have been tyring to learn from them as well as keep my emotions in check and remind myself that it is NOT my birth. Well here is the funniest dumbest comment I have heard on there. Let me set this up...Mom goes in to be induced, everything is going fine, she is laying in bed dealing well with contractions. Doc comes in and says....It is a great time for the epidural, she isn't to uncomfortable just yet...after the epidural is set we will go ahead and break the waters and LET MOTHER NATURE TAKE IT'S COURSE!!! LOL I just laughed and laughed and laughed! If that's mother nature then I am Ina May Gaskin!

BTW she ended up with the baby coming out at an angle so the doc did have her change positions (props to her) to get the baby to turn. She delivered vaginally if anyones interested in the outcome!

Is this the one they just showed with the football player hubby?

The second dumbest comment came shortly after and was the same as the first: "This is how Mother Nature works" or whatever CP said... Yes, Mother Nature fully intended us to deliver in lithotomy postition without the assistance of gravity. Even I had to scoff at that.

I once had doc tell a mom having a cesarean (in the OR, during the surgery)

"You are having a natural birth - 21st century style"

I just cannot watch that show. I learned from it, but learned what NOT to do, and how NOT to treat a woman in labor. The things that some of the nurses and doctors say on that show are just plain wrong. It makes me mad to think that there are so many impressionable pregnant woman watching that show to learn.

Sigh. The ONLY type of those shows I can stand to watch is House of Babies. The rest just made me mad.
