Sickle Cell Anemia and Pregnancy

Hi ladies,
I'm wondering if any of you have any experience laboring with a mom who has sickle cell anemia. Apparently, if just one parent has it, it is less of a concern for baby, but I'm wondering what it means for the mom when she has it. Any thoughts or info or experiences would be helpful.

This is a very good question, in which I have no experience resulting in answers. Since there haven't been any replies, and it's an older thread, I'm wondering if there might be someone out there now who can give some input. I thought this thread was worthy of a bump, just in case.
