My day - client in preterm

So, my client due in July called this AM when I was in the shower. Didn't leave a message though I called her back, her dad says she went to the hospital but he didn't know which one. Double lol. Around 11 her mom calls me, says she's in preterm labor & asking for me. I arrange babysitting, leave, get there about 12:30 (she's around an hour from me). They had her on Brethrine (sp), gave her a steroid shot, did the Fetal Fibronectin Test which came back +, and are keeping her overnight for another steroid shot tomorrow. She's dilated to 3cm and fully effaced. They got her labor to stop while I was there, so after a couple of hours I came home b/c I figure if it starts up again I want to be rested. Please keep her in your prayers - she's 30 weeks today. I told her she has to stay pregnant b/c I leave for a week next Wednesday! She seems in pretty good spirits so far.

Yikes, I hope the baby stays put for a little longer. If she has the baby while you are gone do you have a back up who will be with her?

Yes, but I'm not sure she'll call her kwim? I'm getting that "I don't want someone else' vibe off of her if that makes sense. They've met though, so hopefully I'm wrong and she will call. Even more hopefully she'll just stay pregnant!

She's still pregnant, and still at the hospital. Fully effaced and dilated to 3cm. I have no idea if she's going to be in the hospital until she has the baby or if they'll send her home sometime - she hasn't bothered to ask what's going on. I've been out there a couple of times over the week and I've been checking in with her every day. I just hope she stays pregnant a bit more! I think she's 31 weeks now? I can't remember off the top of my head.
