Dentist appt for my dd with the dentist that it takes 3 months to get an opening in their calendar.
Prenatal visit with my June client - our last prenatal visit got rescheduled THREE times, twice due to laboring moms.
Gymnastics class for my 5yo - they are getting ready for an end-of-the-year thing.
Visiting a friend in the hospital who just had surgery today
My 13yo dd is supposed to be going over a friend's house, and this time, they can't pick her up
My husband is scheduled to go in tomorrow night at 9:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following morning for a sleep study to see if he has sleep apnea - so he won't be home tomorrow night.
So the question is....will my client go into labor on the one day and night of the month when it will be the most inconvenient for me if that happens????
Now if she waits until the weekend to go into labor.....the hospital is right at the shore and my client lives right by the beach...so the traffic this weekend will be horrific by her house and by the hospital.
I've known very few women to go into labor exactly on their due date. I *think* you'll be safe. Just cross your fingers real hard while you go through your day.

Oh crud. No, she'll go tomorrow night just after you get all your kids to sleep and are exhausted and looking forward to your cool comfortable pillow! Good luck!

We'll see!!!
Well, chances are she will or she won't.
In the past when I have a truly slammed day I've mentioned it to a client. So far, they've all held off till a better day LOL
Oh the joys of doula work! Going to bed praying "Please not tonight, tomorrow, just not tonight"

just because you have all of this going on, on this particular day, she'll go into labor!! But I promise to that she doesn't. Call her and tell her that statistically, women don't deliver on their EDD's ...maybe that'll work! I have my for you

Eek!-See it's the dental appt that worries me most bc I know how many you've had to reschedule due to births.
Now you know that every.single.time. I ever told a client in advance that a certain day wasn't good for me they go into labor on that day. So I cannot recommend that and since I've had at least 5 clients give birth on their EDD, I can't reassure you there either-maybe *I* just have crappy luck?
But seriously I hope she waits. I didn't even think of the traffic this weekend!
